Karthick Nursing Home, Rural Surgical Centre was proudly established by Dr.S.Sivasubramaniyan, the esteemed founder secretary of the Association of Surgeons of Rural India (ASRI), in the year 1984 with the noble intent of serving the rural masses of Tamil Nadu across all strata of society. The primary objective of this initiative was to promote comprehensive healthcare access to the rural population at affordable costs. A significant milestone was achieved in 1988 when a new premises was inaugurated by the Honorable Home Minister of India, P. Chidambaram.
Following the sad demise of the founder in 2017, his visionary dream came to life on August 28, 2023, when Karthick Hospital, a dedicated unit of Siva Foundation, was officially launched by his son, Dr. Karthick Sivasubramaniyan, with the support of his soulmate Mrs.Pavithra Karthick to revive and continue the essential services initiated by his father. The hospital continues to evolve and expand its offerings, bringing together various specialties under one umbrella, including Gastroenterology, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ENT, Urology, General Surgery, Endocrinology, General Medicine, Cardiology, Paediatric Surgery, Genetics, Neurology, Rehabilitative Medicine, Reconstructive Surgery, and Plastic Surgery, as well as Surgical & Medical Oncology, which encompasses Intensive Care Medicine.
Siva Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to serve the underprivileged sectors of society, providing these essential healthcare services at affordable costs. This Not For Profit foundation honors the legacies of two generations of distinguished doctors who were celebrated for their unwavering dedication to humanitarian service: the late father-son duo, Dr. S. Sivasubramaniyan, M.S., FICS, and Prof. Dr. L. Sivaraman, FRCS, who served as the Honorary Professor and former Head of the Department of Surgery at Tanjore Medical College, Tamil Nadu, India. The exemplary service and dedication exemplified by the father and grandfather are now being carried forward by their grandson, Dr.Karthick Sivasubramaniyan, MD, who is determined to uphold the founding principles of the Siva Foundation with the same dedication and resolve. It is our aspiration that the community will take this institution to new heights, further enhancing its capacity to serve the rural community in India effectively..
